Silk vs Cotton Pillowcases

Posted by on

Did you know you’re currently sleeping with the enemy? We’re talking about cotton pillowcases. It’s the bedtime habit that’s making your hair frizzy AND giving you wrinkles. But the remedy is pretty simple – just switch out your usual pillowcase for a silk one.

Why? Well, first of all, silk pillowcases are <a lot> smoother against your skin and hair. This is particularly helpful if you’re prone to tossing and turning. Less friction equals less skin damage and hair breakage. In other words, fewer strands left on your pillow in the morning and you can say goodbye to annoying sleep creases on your face.

Secondly, cotton is a moisture-wicking fabric, so when you lie on a cotton pillowcase, your hair’s natural oils are absorbed. This isn’t true for silk, which lets your strands maintain their moisture and stay nourished. Girls who are prone to frizz or have thick, coarse hair will benefit especially from this.

Thirdly, it’s the EASIEST beauty regime you’ll ever come across. Simply take one silk pillowcase and go to sleep. Plus, the whole sleeping-on-silk thing makes us feel rather like a princess.
